Rice is a food the Mangyan enjoy. After they have harvested their rice, it seems that there will never come an end to their supplies. But, before they realize it, gone is all their hope and happiness.

1. Kang kaparay kabasag

2. Kang kabag-o namatyag

3. Uhay pag manga-ayad

4. Nanguman ak namatyag

5. Uhay nanayagtayag

Kabasag, a kind of rice,

When I saw it the first time,

filled with grains were all the heads.

But when I looked once again,

empty were the heads and flat!
